You are welcome to arrive anytime from 8 a.m. to midnight on your day of arrival, but beds will be ready and official check-in will start at 2 p.m. Arrivals after midnight are accepted with a reservation only--no walk-ins past midnight!
You can cancel or modify a reservation without penalty by email 24 hours prior to check-in. This means giving notice before 2 p.m. on the day before your arrival! If you cancel late or no-show, the full cost of the first night of your booking will be charged to your credit card.
Our rates shown are pre-tax. Tax in Washington State is 10.1% and will be added upon arrival!
We are a travelers hostel only--you must live at least an hour outside of Seattle to make a reservation.
Parking in any city can be expensive, so plan accordingly and ask for tips from locals as it could save you big bucks. Street parking is always free on Sundays and from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on other days of the week. After 8 a.m., street parking costs between $1 to $2.50 per hour in 2 or 4 hour increments depending on the block. Paid parking is available in the lot behind the hostel starting at $10.65 + tax until 8 a.m. on weekdays. Day/evening rates range from $11 to $16 + tax for 10 hour increments with no in/out privileges. The cheapest option is to find parking in the nearby residential area and walk 30 minutes back to hostel. We can provide additional details about parking upon check in.
We provide all bedding, and request that you do not bring any from home! You can bring your own towels, or just rent one from us for your stay in the dorms for $2 each. 2 towels are included in the room price of every private room!
Breakfast is complimentary with each night's stay and available from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Meal options include assorted fresh fruits, whole wheat toast with a variety of spreads, assorted cereals, milk, coffee and hot teas. Pike Place Market is only a 10-minute walk away and Belltown has tons of great cafes and restaurants so we encourage you to explore!
City Hostel has a fully equipped communal kitchen complete with commercial appliances, utensils and cookware! Bring your own food and label it with your name and date of check out to keep in our fridges (no freezer). We also have an outdoor grill--wait, what!!!???
We will be happy to store your luggage for free in our secure luggage storage room on the day of your arrival or departure only. Luggage storage is available for arrivals before 2 p.m. check-in or until 10pm on the day of check-out. We are not responsible for anything lost or stolen.
They sure do! Each dorm room has lockers that are free to use. Bring your own lock or rent one on a first-come-first-served basis for $2.
We welcome guests of any age! However, if you are traveling with children under 10 years of age you must book a private room or all the beds in one dorm. Youth from 10 to 17 years of age may stay in shared dorms if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We know how expensive family travel can be; if you are traveling with children up to 17 years of age, please email us to learn about our special family rates!
We do not believe in curfews...you are old enough to decide when to come home! Just be considerate of your fellow travelers (watch your noise, and don't turn on the lights)!
City Hostel has a secure outdoor area for hostel use only where you can keep your bike. This space is available from 8 a.m. to midnight only and does not include in/out services, so if you plan to use your bike while visiting, street racks are your answer! Absolutely no bikes are allowed inside the hostel itself.
7 nights is our max, though we do occasionally make exceptions. Just email us about the nature and length of your stay and we will get right back to you!
