The Burke-Gilman Trail is one of the most heavily used pedestrian and bicycling facilities in Seattle. It runs east from Golden Gardens Park in Ballard and connects to the Sammamish River Trail in Bothell.
The Center of the Universe was discovered in Fremont in 1991, and the city recognized the need for a suitably unique landmark. A Cold War era rocket fuselage was being dismantled in Belltown, and instead of heading to the scrap yard, it was sent to Fremont and into urban mythology.
Year-round, rain or shine, the Fremont Farmer's Market has been in operation for nearly 30 years and is an important feature in the community. Every Sunday you can find a huge selection of delicious local produce, one-of-a-kind clothes and crafts, artwork of all kinds, and, most importantly, a wonderful buzz of energy as locals and visitors alike come together to buy and sell goods
